Justus Sheffield has signed a minor league deal with the Atlanta Braves, according to MLB.com.

The Seattle Mariners released the left-hander last month after he had been demoted to the Triple-A affiliate in the offseason. With Tacoma, he’s allowed 17 runs in 8 1/3 innings with 11 walks and just four strikeouts.
The New York Yankees acquired Sheffield from the Guardians in the 2016 trade which sent reliever Andrew Miller to Cleveland. Sheffield appeared in three games for New York in 2018, posting a 10.13 ERA.
The Yankees sent Sheffield to the Mariners in the 2018 trade for left-hander James Paxton. In four seasons with Seattle, the 26-year-old Sheffield was 12-12 in 48 appearances (33 starts) with a 5.47 ERA.
Sheffield was picked 31st overall by Cleveland in the 2014 MLB draft.
The Braves’ rotation has been hit with injuries, with Max Fried and Kyle Wright set to miss time.
