New Englаnd Pаtrіotѕ’ Moсk Drаft: Trаdeѕ, trаdeѕ, trаdeѕ!

In our newest New England Patriots’ mock draft, we get down to business with a ton of trades and a huge infusion of talent on the roster.  The 2023 NFL Draft is just one week away, and one of our last mock drafts before the real thing is quite the haul of players and picks for the Patriots.

With clear needs on both sides of the ball, the Pats can get busy working the draft boards, trading up and down and even acquiring some players and future picks in the process.  This recent mock draft is filled with everything.

New England Patriots’ Mock Draft: Trades, trades, trades!

56th overall pick: DJ Turner, CB, Michigan

Their first pick comes after trading down quite a bit.  They land a top rated CB in DJ Turner from Michigan.  He’s 5’11” and a truly freakish athlete.  Sure, he’s not the big-bodied CB that the Pats need, but he’s a talented player.

57th overall pick: Rashee Rice, WR, SMU

Rashee Rice is a 6’0″, 204 pound wide receiver who has short area quickness and is twitchy in space.  He could come in and be a week one starter depending on what the Patriots want to do with DeVante Parker and Kendrick Bourne.

76th overall pick: Warren McClendon, OT, Georgia

Warren McClendon is a true right tackle and could be the team’s Trent Brown replacement.  It’s unknown what the Patriots plan on doing with Brown and Riley Reiff, who can both play each tackle spot.

89th overall pick: Andre Carter II, EDGE, Army

EDGE is an underrated need for the team as Matt Judon is getting older and Josh Uche is entering the last year of his rookie deal with the team.  Adding to this position is a must at some point.

107th overall pick: Eli Ricks, CB, Alabama
117th overall pick: Jaquelin Roy, DT, LSU
184th overall pick: Will Mallory, TE, Miami (FL)
187th overall pick: Colby Wooden, DT, Auburn
192nd overall pick: Dorian Thompson-Robinson, QB, UCLA
210th overall pick: Ja’von Hicks, S, Cincinnati
245th overall pick: Spencer Anderson, OC, Maryland
OT Jonah Williams
CB Adoree’ Jackson
2024 JAX 2nd
2024 CIN 3rd

Yeah, so I made quite a few trades here that netted me Jonah Williams, Adoree’ Jackson, and two potentially valuable picks in 2024.  Williams could slide in as the starting left tackle for the Patriots.  The team could also pick the best of the three in Reiff, McClendon, and Brown for right tackle.

Calvin Anderson could be the LT2, while Reiff would likely win the RT battle and slide in as the starter there with McClendon as the RT 2.

The team would also get three new cornerbacks in Jackson, Turner, and 107th overall pick, Eli Ricks.  They’d add Rashee Rice at wide receiver and an EDGE within the top 100 picks.

Frankly, I think this is a decent haul for the Pats.  They get some immediate impact players and some nice capital for the future.
