Three beѕt moveѕ of the New Englаnd Pаtrіotѕ’ offѕeаѕon

The New England Patriots have had a solid offseason this year. Which three moves stick out as being the best they’ve made? While I am high on the moves they made, for the most part, I don’t think it will be quite enough to contend in the AFC, unfortunately.

However, they have made some quality moves that should have an immediate impact on the roster. A few moves stick out as being the best that they’ve made. Which three moves would those be?

Three best moves of the New England Patriots’ offseason
Trading Jonnu Smith

Somehow, the New England Patriots were able to trade Jonnu Smith to the Atlanta Falcons. After two virtually nonexistent years in New England, Smith was a candidate to not be on the team in 2023. Never in a million years did I think they’d be able to trade him, but the Falcons were takers, as the tight end reunites with Arthur Smith from their days in Tennessee.

Signing Mike Gesicki

Mike Gesicki didn’t have much of an impact in 2022, his last year with the Miami Dolphins. Gesicki signed a cheap deal with the Patriots, which I am in love with. He is a hyper-athletic tight end, perhaps almost a big wide receiver.

He should have an immediate impact in the passing game and should be a stellar redzone threat for Mac Jones and Bill O’Brien. This was a fantastic signing.

Drafting Christian Gonzalez

I think if there was any cornerback who would have fit the Patriots best, it was Christian Gonzalez. The long and rangy cornerback can play man and in zone, and he’s very fluid. Cornerback was arguably the biggest need on the Pats’ roster, and taking Gonzalez also gives them someone who can be a true shutdown CB in the NFL.

That and them re-signing Jon Jones were both great decisions, but drafting Gonzo was a stellar decision.
